John and Rita Buckley from the UK recently completed an adventurous circle tour of B.C. in their Model A. We corresponded with them prior to and during their trip but unfortuantely we were unable to meet in person. Click on the following link for an account of their trip. Canada Trip |

August 20th. - Garage Tour & BBQ with Corvette Club |
Club member John Rak invited LGMAC members to join the B.C. Corvette club for a garage tour and BBQ at his home in Abbotsford.
Our host John Rak welcomed and introduced our two groups, then started the day off with a tour of his garage and car collection which included some rare high performance cars and of course a Model A. Photos of his garage were not permitted due to security concerns. |
A decorated hat contest featured some very imaginative hats - not quite our usual 1930 era fashions. |
Thanks to John and his family for hosting this event. We hope to return to his property again in the future. |

August 13th. - Tour to Bow Washington |
It was a very good run today to Bow Edison, Washington. We had 7 Model A vehicles and 3 modern cars on the run. Gerry led for the first leg from Ben’s place (leaving precisely at 10:45 am under the watchful direction of Tour Leader, Al Glen) through the backroads of Blaine to miss most of the traffic. We stopped for a quick stretch and bio-break at the park just before the Chuckanut entrance. Al took over the lead and brought us safely through the Chuckanut and we paraded through the tiny town of Edison and on to Don and Debbie Allen’s place. |

The weather was perfect for the drive and the picnic out the back of their 115 year-old house. Dee and Monte Robinson, Debbie and Don Allen were our hosts. They put on a fabulous spread of pulled pork, salads, and Dee’s famous bean stew. |

Monte had some door prizes for us – the grand prize of a 1930 Canadian radiator shell was won by our newest members, Joanne and Pat Curley. Other door prizes were three restored starter switches and a set of windshield swing arms. It was Pat and Joanne’s first long trip in their Model A and they were thrilled with the run. Interested guests Mike and Barb Cozad joined us on the run in their Model A |

Another memorable “Run to Monte’s and Dee’s” for the Lions Gate Model A Club. |

July 12th - Ben and Gerry's Apple Pie and Ice Cream Run |
Cross-border travel issues limited the attendance of this year's event, but it was good to be able to finally greet our friends again in person. |
A brief stop at the Birch Bay beach under brilliant sunshine |
Delicious apple pie and ice cream was served by our delightful hostesses Alana and Camille, Marge and Gerry's grandaughters. |
Monte, Dee and her sister joined us for a perfect afternoon. |

April 23rd. - Tour to Langley and Abbotsford |
Our day got off to a good start at the Colossus theater in Langley |
While stopping for lunch at Fort Langley a troupe of furry characters paid us a visit. |
After a pleasant drive along the Fraser river we ended up at Dave and Margie Graham's home and shop in Abbotsford. They recently rejoined the club so it was great to see them again. |
Dave has an impressive welding and fabrication shop and showed the guys how he made special tools to make a patch panel for his panel truck project..... |
....while the ladies enjoyed the rare April sunshine. |
Dave's 1930 Panel Delivery Truck formed a nice backdrop for some group photos. Thanks to Al Glen for leading the tour and Dave and Margie for hosting us. |
